In Jaipur, India, a family of four on their motorcycle are hit by a truck. The man’s pleas for help are ignored as cars and people pass by on the highway, while his wife and daughter die of their injuries.

The footage of the man’s desperate plight have been played on the news in India, prompting a nationwide conversation about passerby apathy a few months after people ignored the body of the young female bus passenger who was stripped, gang-raped, and dumped on the street.
